The Lunar New Year is coming up and that means…a lot of feasting. Physical therapist Dr. Jian Wen-ren has come up with rat-themed calisthenics to help people shake off any extra pounds the holiday.

Instead of just stuffing your face and lying around during the Lunar New Year holidays… You can do some Rat Calisthenics! Curl your hands to your chest and then…  jump like this!  The holidays are so noisy! Doing this will trim your waist!

Make the Chinese character for “an”, which means safety! This move means protection!

Then glide over your body from top to bottom.

Be agile like a rat! This move is like a deep squat.

There you have it! Calisthenics for the Year of the Rat!

Physical therapist Jian Wen-ren says he has an easy one that’s great for the elderly. Pretend that you’re flying!

The doctor says if there’s any move that feels great, then do it some more! Here’s to a healthy Year of the Rat!
