Taiwan’s Labor Pension Fund recorded its highest-ever rate of return in 2019: 11.81%. The Bureau of Labor Funds released the figures on Monday.
The bureau’s vice chairperson, Liu Li-jiu said that the financial market was affected by a lot of destabilizing factors last year, including the US-China trade war. She said that the market eventually performed well thanks to abundant funds and the reducing likelihood of an economic recession.
The bureau said that if the gain is distributed evenly to the approximately 11.8 million accounts, each worker will receive a dividend of about NT$22,600 (US$745).
