The Centers for Disease Control has announced that Taiwan will begin temporarily barring entry for Chinese nationals whose residency is also in China. That’s in light of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak centered in China.
The measure will go into effect Thursday.
In addition, airline passengers who have traveled to China, Hong Kong, or Macao must quarantine themselves at home for 14 days after arriving in Taiwan.
As of Wednesday, the number of confirmed novel coronavirus cases in Taiwan remains at eleven. One of the patients is close to recovery and could be released from hospital in a week.
