Three Permanent Representatives to the United Nations from Taiwan’s allied countries are in Taiwan for a state visit. The three are Lois Michele Young of Belize, Luis António Lam Padilla of Guatemala, and Patrick Saint-Hilaire of Haiti.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the three guests, saying that the visit will help them further understand Taiwan’s political and economic status. The foreign ministry says it will also bolster support for Taiwan on the international stage.
The delegation is scheduled to meet with President Tsai Ing-wen, visit governmental organizations, and tour local institutions.
