The Taitung Tourism Association has launched a discount coupon in hopes to attract more travelers and stimulate local tourism.
The ongoing COVID-19 epidemic centered in Mainland China’s Hubei Province has significantly impacted cross-strait exchanges. Taiwan’s tourism sector has been hit especially hard as most flights have been canceled and the number of incoming tourists has seen a sharp decline.
The Taitung Tourism Association announced on Tuesday that it has joined hands with 46 local hotels and restaurants to launch a discount coupon. The coupon can be downloaded from the group’s official Facebook or Line page, and the association said all who show the coupon are entitled to discounts when making purchases at certified locations.
