With many people concerned about the COVID-19 outbreak, staying healthy is on people’s minds. A doctor has advised the public to add traditional Chinese medicine in their diet to help boost their immune system.

Hot soup is a common dish for people in Taiwan during the winter season. A doctor has said that adding certain types of Chinese medicine to soup could help boost one’s immune system.

The doctor said ingredients such as ginseng and red wolfberry bring much benefit to one’s livers and kidneys. Other ingredients such as sesames and ganoderma can serve as antioxidants.

The doctor said some Chinese medicines, such as caterpillar fungus, are difficult to acquire and cook properly. He has advised restaurant and coffee shop owners to consider adding ground Chinese medicine powder to dishes and coffee to help improve their customers’ health.
