With the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, a popular museum in Tainan has taken a more light-hearted approach to fighting the disease.
The Chimei Museum in Tainan City is showcasing three oil paintings as part of an effort to combat the COVID-19 outbreak. One painting depicts the Battle of Stalingrad with added captions that say “epidemic prevention is like a combat” and “thank hardworking medical personnel”. Another painting showing a woman holding her hands together is captioned with “wash your hands regularly”.
Similarly, shops around Taiwan have come out with items that might add a bit of personality at this time. For example, one store sells cloth masks with a dog nose and mouth printed on the front. There’s also one featuring Taiwan’s black-faced spoonbill.
Also on offer are charms that have good prevention practices written on them. This one says “wash your hands often and stay indoors”. The shop owner says fighting COVID-19 is everyone’s responsibility.
