Taiwan confirms two more cases of COVID-19; total at 26
Taiwan's Central Epidemic Command Center announced the 25th and 26th confirmed case of COVID-19

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) on Friday confirmed two more cases of COVID-19, bringing Taiwan’s total number of confirmed cases to 26. The two new cases are the 20-year-old granddaughter and 40-year-old daughter of Taiwan’s 24th confirmed case of COVID-19.

According to the CECC, the 20-year-old female began suffering from a cough on January 28. She went to the hospital on January 31 with a fever. She returned to the hospital on February 4 and 11 to seek follow-up treatment for her cough.

The 40-year-old female did not exhibit any cough or fever. However, she did go to the hospital for heartburn on February 3 and 6.

Prior to their confirmation, the CDC had placed the two new cases under quarantine for their relation with Case 24. They had not traveled abroad recently. Authorities are still investigating the cause of their infection.

The CECC says that they have followed-up with 391 individuals who have come in contact with the infected family. They have tested 169 individuals for COVID-19. 143 people have tested negative, with the remainder awaiting results.
