Taiwanese film director Tsai Ming-liang has brought “Days”, his latest feature drama, to the 70th Berlin International Film Festival.
The film is scheduled for exhibition on February 27 and it will compete for the Golden Bear Award.
In a Facebook post, Tsai reminisced about his previous trips to the festival in Berlin. He said he was very excited when he brought his first feature film “Rebel of the Neon God” to Berlin in 1993. He also remembers the sad moment when an actor friend of his passed away while he was attending the festival in 2006.
Tsai expressed his love for the city and the several cinema giants that were born in Berlin, including Rainer Fassbinder and Friedrich Murnau. He said he looks forward to returning to Berlin someday.
