President Tsai Ing-wen has thanked Taiwan’s medical personnel for their efforts in fighting the new coronavirus, COVID-19. Tsai was speaking Monday at a groundbreaking ceremony for a new children’s hospital at the Mackay Memorial Hospital’s Hsinchu Branch, in central Taiwan.
Tsai said that the Hsinchu City Government has partnered with major hospitals in the area, like Mackay, to fend off COVID-19. She thanked the nation’s medical personnel for their efforts in fighting the virus.
Tsai said that the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) is helping medical facilities around the island become fully-equipped to handle disease prevention efforts. She said she hopes that the people of Taiwan can show their support for medical staff, and abide by the latest prevention measures.
