How do you disinfect your car? What can drivers do to protect themselves and their passengers? A doctor who specializes in infectious diseases says opening the window is the first step.
Amid the growing fears over COVID-19, the public is advised to keep a distance of one meter from each other. But how do you do that in a small car?
There is a way you can reduce the chance of being infected by airborne droplets in a car: open the window!
Dr. Tsui Ker-chung, who specializes in infectious diseases, says opening the window lets fresh air come in and this can blow away infected droplets.
Air circulation lowers the amount of germs and other hazardous substances in an enclosed space.
Dr. Tsui also says drivers should wear a mask at all times. Car seats should also be disinfected.
Air filters should be replaced often. Drivers should disinfect other parts of the vehicle too.
Finally, remember to wash your hands before you get in the car and after you leave it.
