Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center confirmed one more case of COVID-19 in Taiwan on Friday. This is Taiwan’s 50th case since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
The patient is an American man in his 50s. The epidemic command center says the man may have contracted the virus from a group of friends who came to Taiwan from the US to visit him between February 24 and 26.
The man later developed chills, a cough, and a fever. He was admitted to the hospital on March 7 and tested for COVID-19 on March 10. He was confirmed to have the disease on Friday.
The epidemic command center has identified 64 people who came into contact with the man around the time he contracted COVID-19.
