Hoarding essentials to inflate their price is a crime: High Prosecutor
The Taiwan High Prosecutors Office says that unlawful hoarding will be pursued by the law

Taiwan’s High Prosecutor’s Office warns that hoarding certain supplies in order to inflate their price is a crime punishable by up to seven years in prison and a fine of NT$5million (US$165,000).

As news reports focus on anxious buyers making a run on stores, the government is reassuring citizens that Taiwan’s stock of essential items can meet demand.

The High Prosecutor’s Office says it has set up a platform to investigate those engaged in illegal hoarding. The office says it will punish anyone found hoarding essentials and reselling them for a profit to the full extent of the law.
