A group of 214 Taiwanese evacuated from China on Monday have been put into quarantine for fourteen days.
The 214 Taiwanese citizens had been stranded in China’s Hubei Province for over two months. The province’s capital, Wuhan, is the place where the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic originated. However, the evacuation flight left from the city of Shanghai rather than from Hubei Province.
This is the second evacuation flight carrying Taiwanese citizens out of China in the last few days. On Sunday, the government had arranged another flight from Shanghai, this one carrying 153 Taiwanese citizens.
