Premier Su Tseng-chang says that the government’s Central Epidemic Command Center is drawing up guidelines for social distancing in public places. The guidelines aim to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
On Tuesday, DPP lawmaker Lin Chu-yin asked Su what these guidelines are likely to entail. Su said he believes it would be most appropriate to request people to stay around an arm’s length from others when in public places. Su also said that the guidelines will not apply to family life or interaction in the home.
In response to further questions, Su said that in the period immediately after the guidelines are released, there will be no penalties for those who fail to follow them.
