COVID-19: Number of Taiwan cases reaches 339
Taiwan announced ten more cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

Taiwan confirmed ten new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. These latest cases bring Taiwan’s total so far up to 339.

Eight of these new cases were imported, brought in by people with a recent history of travel to the US, Canada, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, the UK, Denmark, Austria, and Indonesia.

The remaining two new cases are domestic in origin.

The patient in one case apparently became ill after coming in contact with another person who had recently traveled to Indonesia. All people this patient has been in contact with recently are now in home quarantine.

The source of infection in the second case remains unknown. The patient in this case had no recent history of travel abroad. Health authorities are investigating how this second patient may have become ill.
