Taiwan announced ten new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total to 373. Nine of those cases were imported, while one is a domestic infection.

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) is also asking everyone who visited certain tourist hotspots to monitor their health for the next two weeks and to work from home if possible. That’s after tourists crowded certain hotspots during the four-day Tomb Sweeping Festival weekend, which concluded on Sunday.

The authorities have released a list of the hotspots, which are mostly in southern Taiwan, and include the beach resort town of Kenting.  The list also includes Alishan Forest Recreation Area, Hualien’s Tungtamen Night Market, Cishan Old Street, Kaohsiung’s Xingda Port, Wusantou Huching Resort, and Yunlin’s Chaotien Temple.

Many in the medical field are concerned that the recent crowds during the long holiday could lead to a community outbreak of the new coronavirus.
