Taiwan’s Ministry of the Interior is extending its use of flexible work hours to decrease the chances of a community outbreak of COVID-19.
Starting Monday, employees can begin their workday at any time between 7:30 and 9:30am. That will enable them to avoid peak commute hours. Employees will also have flexible lunch hours to avoid crowds during lunchtime.
Deputy Minister of the Interior Chen Tsung-yen said that the ministry is also prepared for employees to work in mobile offices in the event of a more serious outbreak of COVID-19. They will begin simulations for mobile working on Wednesday.
