Taiwan plans to donate a further 6 million masks to countries in need
Taiwan is planning a further donation of six million medical-grade masks to countries hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Taiwan has announced a new donation of medical-grade masks to countries that need them. That’s as several million masks Taiwan has already donated begin to arrive at their destinations worldwide.

This second donation will total six million masks. Recipient countries are expected to include EU member states, the US, countries in Latin American and the Caribbean, and countries that fall under Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy. The latter include Australia, New Zealand, and the countries of South and Southeast Asia.

The foreign ministry also says that some of these masks may be sent to other friendly countries, and that talks with Japan in particular are underway.

The foreign ministry says the masks are to be made in Taiwan and will be of the highest quality available.
