The foreign ministry is sharing Taiwan’s experience in dealing with COVID-19 on its official website.

A page featuring the government’s efforts to contain the  novel coronavirus is divided into three sections: international media coverage, the Taiwanese model, and multimedia links. The page was unveiled Tuesday and introduces Taiwan’s health care system, public trust in the government, and the cooperation between the public and private sector.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Joanne Ou said that as Taiwan’s model is transparent, it can display its effective disease containment policies to other countries.

Ou also attributed the government’s success in dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak to Taiwan’s freedom, openness and diversity. She said despite Taiwan’s proximity to China and frequent exchanges between the two sides, Taiwan has been able to curb the disease from spreading further and minimize the impact of COVID-19 on people’s livelihoods.
