A shipment of two million surgical masks donated by Taiwan arrived in Japan Tuesday.
An unnamed source with knowledge of the matter says that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe later phoned Taiwan’s representative to Japan to thank Taiwan and President Tsai Ing-wen.
Speaking through Taiwan’s representative office in Japan, President Tsai responded by expressing her concern about the COVID-19 outbreak in Japan and her hopes that both Taiwan and Japan will succeed in fighting the disease.
