The Cabinet has approved a special budget of NT$210 billion (US$7 billion) to help industries hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The government’s statistics office says that COVID-19 has overturned its earlier prediction that Taiwan could see 2.72% economic growth this year. However, the office says that the special budget will at least allow Taiwan’s economic growth this year to reach somewhere between 1.3% and 1.8%.
