Canada’s representative office in Taiwan has expressed thanks for a donation of 500,000 medical-grade masks.
Taiwan made the donation on April 22. 400,000 of the masks have gone to Canada’s federal government, with the rest given to the provinces of Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. The foreign ministry has asked Canada to ensure that a portion of the donation goes to indigenous communities.
In a Facebook post Wednesday, Canada’s representative office said that the masks have arrived, and that the Canadian Red Cross will distribute them to hospitals and communities when they are needed.
