Four military personnel from a COVID-19 cluster infection on board a Taiwan navy ship tested positive on Sunday. The rest of the personnel on the Panshih Fast Combat Support Ship are now being tested again before they can be released from quarantine.  A total of 35 people on board the ship have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in Taiwan to 436.

On Sunday evening, Health Minister Chen Shih-chung  said the four new confirmed cases from the Panshih were all asymptomatic.

The Panshih was part of a  Friendship Fleet of three boats that visited Palau from March 12-15. The first case in the cluster infection on board the Panshih was discovered on April 18. Officials moved quickly to quarantine everyone on board all three ships in the fleet. The four new cases on Sunday were discovered when all 713 personnel from the fleet were tested again while in quarantine.

No new infections were detected on the other two boats, so the authorities then released 367 personnel from the unaffected ships on Monday morning. All of them are now subject to self-health management at home.
