Taiwanese health authorities announced one new case of COVID-19 Wednesday. This brings the total number of cases Taiwan has recorded so far up to 439.
The new patient is a Taiwanese woman who returned from working in the UK on April 26. She reported symptoms of COVID-19 to airport authorities upon arriving in Taiwan, but an initial test came back negative. She was tested a second time on Monday after her symptoms persisted, and health authorities say this test came back positive on Wednesday.
