Three government ministers have announced that they will not be staying on in their posts once Tsai Ing-wen begins her second term.
All the Cabinet ministers formally tendered their resignations on Thursday ahead of next week’s inauguration. However, many are expected to stay on into Tsai’s second term. The heads of the National Development Council, culture ministry, and technology ministry are not among them.
National Development Council Minister Chen Mei-ling recently sent a letter to colleagues announcing the premier’s decision not to keep her in the Cabinet.
Meanwhile, Technology Minister Chen Liang-gee and Culture Minister Cheng Li-chun have also announced that they will not stay on during Tsai’s second term.
