Premier Su Tseng-chang is calling on Cabinet ministries to work towards giving Taiwan a strong economy after the COVID-19 pandemic ends. Su was speaking at the Cabinet Thursday.

Su said that Taiwan’s early action to keep COVID-19 under control has meant that Taiwan’s economy has taken less of a hit from the pandemic than the economies of other countries.

Su said that in its first 2020 report on investment risks, the US-based Business Environment Risk Intelligence ranked Taiwan as having the world’s third most-stable environment for investing.

Su said that the Cabinet will soon roll out the next stage in its program to encourage people to stimulate the economy by spending money. He called on government ministries to cooperate with this program, encourage more public works projects, and promote investment in Taiwan.
