Cabinet approves plan to invest in smart display technology
Premier Su Tseng Chang says that Taiwan is the world’s second-largest exporter of screens and other display devices.

The Cabinet has approved a five-year plan to invest NT$17.7 billion (US$598 million) in smart display technology.

Premier Su Tseng Chang says that Taiwan is the world’s second-largest exporter of screens and other display devices, with the display sector accounting for 8% of Taiwan’s GDP last year.

The plan will fund the development of new technologies and applications such as holographic projection and foldable screens. It will also work to create cooperation between the display field and other sectors, such as the semiconductor industry. It will also work towards the development of green technologies.
