Taiwan’s largest IT trade exhibition, COMPUTEX, has been cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers plan to hold an online version of the show instead.
Taiwan’s external trade council, TAITRA, announced the cancellation on Friday. It says that organizers agreed that the pandemic will make it difficult for buyers and sellers from abroad to participate.
COMPUTEX 2020 was originally slated to take place from September 28-30. Now, organizers are saying that vendors can apply to participate in an online expo, which will also begin September 28. TAITRA says it will release more details about the online format on June 28.
Organizers also announced June 1-5 as the tentative dates for COMPUTEX 2021.
