The government is offering subsidies to companies that employ and train young talent. That was the word from the Ministry of Labor on Monday.
The ministry says the plan is meant to help fresh graduates amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. It also aims to encourage companies to train young skilled workers.
The plan will give NT$12,000 (about US$ 400) in subsidies per month to companies that employ and train people aged between 15 and 29.
If the employee’s monthly salary is NT$28,000 (about US$930) or more, the ministry will give subsidies for training that person for up to six months. If the salary is NT$30,000 (about US$1,000) or more, the company could get subsidies for up to nine months. Each company can receive a maximum subsidy of NT$108,000 (US$3,600) per employee.
The plan is effectively immediately and is valid through June 30, 2021.
