Health Minister Chen Shih-chung headed to a movie theater on Tuesday. He’s not just taking a break after leading a successful fight against COVID-19. He’s also showing it’s safe to go to the movies as long as restrictions are observed.
Chen was accompanied by Deputy Culture Minister Peng Chun-heng. Together they showed how people should put on masks and have their temperatures taken before entering the theater. They said as long as regulations are followed, people can safely enjoy the arts and cultural events.
Meanwhile, Peng encouraged the public to use the vouchers to be issued in July by the Cabinet. Peng said the vouchers will be good for movie theaters, exhibition halls and bookstores. The government is encouraging people to go out and enjoy the arts, now that the COVID-19 pandemic has been largely contained in Taiwan.
