Japan mulls limited reopening of border to Taiwan citizens this fall
Japan mulls reopening its borders to Taiwanese business travelers in the fall

Japan is considering resuming flights between Taiwan and Japan, and admitting Taiwanese business travelers in the fall. That’s according to a report by the Nikkei Asian Review on Wednesday. The move is part of a plan to ease border restrictions and help Japan’s economy recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Talks on reopening to Taiwanese business travelers could begin in July.

According to the report, Japan is also considering reopening its borders to Brunei. Nikkei Asian Review says that both Taiwan and Brunei have had relatively low numbers of COVID-19 infections and have been successful in containing the spread of the disease.
