Two members of the armed forces are dead after a helicopter crash on Thursday.
The crash happened at around 3:30pm at an air force base in Hsinchu, northwestern Taiwan. The helicopter was returning to base after taking part in the annual Han Kuang military exercises. The cause of the crash remains unclear.
The ROC Army Aviation and Special Forces Command says it has already launched an inquiry into the crash. It also says it has ordered a temporary halt to deployments of helicopters.
This is the third accident involving this particular helicopter model, the Bell OH-58 Kiowa, to take place in Taiwan during the past two years.
