Vice President William Lai on Tuesday called for the central and local governments to help in three areas in southern Taiwan. They are industrial upgrading, cultivating talents and digital development.
Lai said any country that is digitally advanced is bound to have a competitive edge. He said President Tsai Ing-wen has good reason to promote the ‘Five plus Two Industry Innovation Plan’ so Taiwan can become a digital country.
Lai said southern Taiwan highly needs development in artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, cloud computing and big data analysis to upgrade its industries.
