With Taiwan’s COVID-19 outbreak largely contained, Emirates Airlines, the flag carrier of the UAE, has decided to increase the number of flights to Taiwan. The airline announced its decision on Wednesday.

Beginning Thursday, the airline will run four passenger and four cargo flights per week between Taiwan and Dubai. The flights will depart every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Emirates Airlines began flying to Taiwan again on June 17 with three passenger flights a week. The flights have been operated with Boeing 777’s rather than the usual Airbus A380.

Emirates is trying to increase the number of its international flights. By the end of August, it plans to have passenger flights to 62 cities.  Emirates cargo flights are also making a rebound: the airline only flew to 35 cities in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but is now flying to over 100 cities. Cargo has consisted mostly of medical supplies, foods, and materials for use in manufacturing.
