Taiwan’s representative to the United States, Hsiao Bi-khim, has met with US Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Clarke Cooper. Cooper shared pictures of the meeting on Twitter.
Cooper said in his tweet that he and Hsiao are working “together for regional peace and stability.” At the same time, he called Taiwan a “#reliablepartner.”
Since taking his post in May 2019, Cooper has been a vocal critic of China’s aggressive tactics toward Taiwan. He also voiced his support for Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen on the occasion of her inauguration to a second term in May.
