President Tsai Ing-wen is calling on Taiwan’s young leaders and entrepreneurs to help boost the economy. Tsai was speaking Thursday while meeting with members of the Taiwan chapter of Junior Chamber International.
Tsai said that in order to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the local economy, the government has introduced Taiwan’s largest-ever economic stimulus program.
She said the stimulus package, worth a total of NT$ 1.05 trillion (US$35 billion), aims to support laborers and enterprises.
To better implement the stimulus program, Tsai urged young leaders to continue sharing their views with the government.
