An 89-person delegation led by Czech Senate President Miloš Vystrčil held a banquet in Taiwan Thursday night to thank local officials for their hospitality. The delegation is scheduled to return to the Czech Republic on Saturday.
Taiwan’s Vice President William Lai attended the banquet. Lai thanked the delegation on behalf of President Tsai. Lai said he hoped that the delegation members experienced the full extent of the Taiwanese people’s warmth and kindness.
Lai said that a mutual love for democracy has brought Taiwan and the Czech Republic closer together. He said he hopes ties between the two countries will continue to strengthen.
Lai welcomed the delegation members to come back to Taiwan. He said that this time, the delegation’s itinerary was limited to northern Taiwan. Lai said he hopes delegation members can come back and experience other parts of Taiwan in the future.
