President Tsai Ing-wen says Taiwan is the best choice for investment. She was speaking at the 26th annual meeting of the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce. The mayors of Taipei and Taoyuan and American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Director William Brent Christensen also attended the business forum.
Tsai said the global economic order has changed due to the pandemic and this has brought opportunities to Taiwan. Taiwan saw a record high number of Taiwanese returning to Taiwan to invest last year. This year has also seen NT$220 billion returning to Taiwan so far.
The president said, “If you want to invest now, Taiwan is the best choice.” She said Taiwan would continue to go forward with its three major economic plans. Government funds will also be used to support industries. She also highlighted Taiwan's one-stop service window that helps businesses with funding, water, electricity, land and other needs.
The mayors of Taipei and Taoyuan also said their cities would help and support investors coming back to their cities to invest.
