Taiwan saw three new imported cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases to 521. That was the word from the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) on Tuesday.
Two of the new cases are men in their 30s while the third case is a woman in her 20s. They are all Taiwanese who had returned from the US and France.
Case number 519 is a man who works in the US but returns to Taiwan once every two or three months. He had no symptoms while in the US, but when he returned to Taiwan on October 4, he reported symptoms and was tested at the airport.
Case no. 520 had symptoms while she was in France in late September but did not go to get tested in France. She was tested upon arrival in Taiwan on October 4.
Case no. 521 also works in the US and had experienced symptoms the day before his flight. He was tested upon arrival on October 4.
Taiwan has 429 imported cases, 55 domestic cases and 36 cases from a naval ship. Seven of the patients have died, 485 have recovered and 29 are still being treated in hospital isolation wards.
