Taiwan is getting ready for the fourth annual Yushan Forum, which will open on Thursday. The forum aims to serve as a platform for regional dialogue. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s forum will be taking place in both virtual and physical form.
Opinion leaders and experts from twelve countries are set to take part in the forum, discussing topics including post-pandemic regional economic recovery, responding to public health crises, and global governance.
Both President Tsai Ing-wen and Vice President William Lai are scheduled to give speeches during the forum. Other dignitaries slated to give addresses include former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt, Japanese Diet member Furuya Keiji, former Danish Prime Minister and former NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, and US Congressman Ted Yoho.
