The foreign ministry says that Taiwan stands ready to help Vietnam as Typhoon Nangka brings torrential rain and flooding to Vietnam’s central region.
The foreign ministry’s chief of Asian affairs, Larry R.L. Tseng, has spoken with Vietnam’s representative to Taiwan, Nguyen Anh Dung, to offer assistance if needed. Nguyen has thanked Taiwan for its offer, and said that he will report back about it to Vietnamese officials.
The foreign ministry also says that so far, no Taiwanese nationals are known to have been killed or injured as a result of the flooding in Vietnam.
