Taiwan sees 3 new imported COVID-19 cases from the Philippines

Taiwan reported three new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total to 543. The new cases were all people coming back from the Philippines. 

Two of the new patients are Filipino. They came to Taiwan on October 5 and were quarantined but had no symptoms. They were confirmed with COVID-19 on October 18. 

The third case is a Taiwanese man who has been working in the Philippines. He began experiencing symptoms on October 5 and went to the hospital in the Philippines on October 15 and was diagnosed with a lung infection. He returned to Taiwan on October 18 and was confirmed to have COVID-19 on Tuesday. 

Taiwan has a total of 543 cases of COVID-19. Of these, 451 are imported and 55 are domestic. There were 36 cases from a cluster infection on a navy ship and one case with an unknown origin. Seven of the patients have died, 495 have recovered and 41 are still being treated in hospital isolation wards.
