A special exhibit featuring archives relating to the development of Kaohsiung Harbor in the south and Keelung Harbor in the north is now underway.
The two ports have played an important role in Taiwan’s maritime trade and the country’s connections with the world over the past century.
A total of 83 archival materials dating from 1913 to 2004 are on display, including a 1913 drawing of the prototype for Kaohsiung Harbor and period depictions of street scenes in Keelung. Besides historical documents and pictures, there are videos and interactive virtual displays too.
The exhibit, organized by the National Archives Administration, is co-sponsored by the Maritime and Port Bureau and the Taiwan International Ports Corporation.
The exhibit kicked off in New Taipei on Wednesday and will run through next May.
