The Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce of North America on Monday donated 30,000 medical masks to St. Lucia to aid its fight against COVID-19. The project was made possible through collaboration with Caribbean partners, including the US Embassy in Barbados, the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, and the embassies of other East Caribbean countries.

St. Lucia’s foreign minister Sarah Flood-Beaubrun said that Taiwan has donated personal protective equipment from the start of the pandemic.  Taiwan has also been helping with St. Lucia’s economy and social development.

She also said that Taiwan should be seen as a model for the world’s fight against the pandemic. She said Taiwan’s participation in the WHO will not only meet the objective of the United Nations, but also benefit the world.
