10,000 attend Road to Ultra music festival in Taipei
Road to Ultra Taiwan 2020 music festival took place over the weekend

Just how well is Tawan handling the COVID-19 pandemic? Why don’t you ask the 10,000 people that attended the Ultra Music Festival in Taipei over the weekend?

The beat goes ‘boom, boom, boom’ and sometimes it goes ‘bam, bam, bam,’ but the people never stop going ‘yeah, yeah, yeah!’ This is the Road to Ultra Taiwan 2020 music festival. This might seem like archive footage from a pre-COVID-19 event, but this rockin’ bopin’ festival took place in November.

Internationally acclaimed acts like DJ Kayzo from Texas riled up the crowd with his bumping beats. He was so appreciative of the party atmosphere, that he got up on stage and started waving a Taiwanese flag, a testament to the country’s disease-fighting efforts.

Heavy-hitting Swedish DJ Alesso met with the crowds after a high-profle 14-day quarantine in Taipei documented on social media. Once he hit the stage, he let the crowds have it.

After the show, a few hosts and stage acts stuck around and hung out in the streets of Taipei. Although they came here to show their stuff to the local audience, Taiwan may also have shown them a thing or two about disease prevention.
