President Tsai Ing-wen says she hopes to see Facebook bring well-known Taiwanese brands into the global spotlight.
Tsai was speaking Thursday while virtually checking into the Facebook Made by Taiwan 2020 event. Tsai said that Facebook is an important partner for Taiwan in fighting COVID-19, providing accurate information about the state of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Facebook has launched a plan called “Made by Taiwan 2020” that will see Facebook invest more resources in Taiwan. The goal of the plan is to help Taiwan undergo a digital transformation in the post-pandemic era. Tsai said she hopes that in addition, Facebook will bring greater visibility to Taiwanese brands, and thereby make Taiwan itself more visible.
