The holiday season is here, and a group of grandmas and grandpas have decided to cycle around Taiwan to spread Christmas cheer. The energetic seniors dressed in holiday costumes are planning to give away presents along their journey throughout the holiday season.
These energetic senior citizens have a special mission this holiday season. They're dressed up as Santas, and are warming up to cycle around Taiwan and give away Christmas presents to children on the way.
They've been cycling from Hualien County Government Hall to a primary school near National Dong Hua University to give presents to 60 children.
The oldest one among these cycling Santas? He's 98 year old Kang Meng Lin. He says,“I may not be young, but I still have the energy to lead these seniors to the great outdoors.”He's almost a hundred years old, active as ever, and having the time of his life giving away Christmas presents to children.
Grandma Chen Yun said she's really happy to be back in Hualien because she lived there for 20 years.
Chen is 92 years old and having a great time dancing and prancing in her old hometown. This group of over 30 elderly cyclists took off from eastern Taiwan on December 14 and will be cycling around the island until Christmas Day, bringing holiday cheer to people of all ages!
