COVID-19: Gov’t may let citizens infected abroad return sooner
Health Minister Chen Shih-chung

Health authorities are discussing whether to let Taiwanese citizens diagnosed with COVID-19 overseas return to Taiwan sooner.

Under current rules, Taiwanese citizens diagnosed with COVID-19 while outside of the country may only return after two months have passed and symptoms have lessened. Alternatively, they can return if they test negative twice after ten days have passed from the start of illness.

Health Minister Chen Shih-chung said Thursday that health experts are deliberating whether to cut that wait time down to one month.
