The government is working with schools and the Chi Bo Lin foundation to carry on the legacy of the famous late aerial filmmaker Chi Bo Lin. Just this past week, the foundation gave away over 1,000 copies of his book and previewed the sequel to his popular film Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above.
Filmmaker Chi Bo Lin brought us Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above and lost his life in a helicopter while filming its sequel. But his legacy lives on.
The Chi Bo Lin Foundation gave over 1,000 copies of his photo collection In Focus Chi Bo Lin to elementary school principals and libraries as part of a charity fundraiser held by the National Taiwan University and National Chengchi University EMBA programs.
Footage of his sequel Beyond Beauty Taiwan 2.0 was shown for the first time at the event. Chi Bo Lin will always be remembered as the documentary filmmaker who showed the world the beauty of Taiwan from above. The new footage was made in 4K. Chi's son said his father spent much of what he earned from his first film - NT$20 million – to buy the 4K equipment.
The new documentary will be broadcast at schools throughout Taiwan. The Chi Bo Lin Foundation also has plans to invite over 10,000 students to the Chi Bo Li Museum and hold biennial Chi Bo Lin Aerial Photography Awards.
